| Pokhara |
| Pokhara is main touristic
city of Nepal, 200km northwest of Kathmandu. Most tourists
stay in Pokhara to relax along the lake. It is the starting
point for treks into the Himalayas. You can see the Annapurna
range from town on a clear day. Visitors have a wider
selection of accommodations because there are a lot of
Hotels, Lodges and Resorts but the resort area on Phewa
Lake has better accommodations. You can rent a rowboat
and paddle to enjoy in the lake and the temple, located
on one of the lake's islands. Spelunkers might also enjoy
an excursion to nearby Mahendra Cave, Gupteshwar Mahadev
Cave and Devi's falls. |

| Sarangkot |
| A
day trek can be made to Sarangkot, a small village about
a two-hour walk into the mountains. The mountain panorama
you get from Sarangkot is far superior to what you can
see in town, and in the other direction there's a fine
view of the Phewa Lake resort area. The night view of
Phewa Lake is impressive, and sunrise showers the snowcapped
mountains with exquisite color. |
