| Main attraction of Chitwan
is the Royal Chitwan National Park, one of the finest
national parks in Asia. It is famous for its dense concentration
of wildlife and top class tourist lodges. One can see
animals in their natural habitat in this national park.
Not just wildlife, Chitwan is also famous for pilgrimage
to Devghat at the confluence of Kali, Seti, and Trishuli
rivers where since ancient age hermitage have been coming
mediate. Many people think that Devghat is a great and
holy place to the end of life. |

Park |
Royal Chitwan the most
famous National Park lies in the southern Terai belt of
Nepal, which is in easy access from Kathmandu(169 km,
5 hr). It spreads over an area of 932 sq km. The park
maintains three types of vegetation-grassland(20%), Riverine
Forest(10%) and Shorea robusta(70%). The park is abundant
with animals such as One-Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal
tiger, Wild boar, Gaur, Wild Elephant, Spotted Dear, Samber,
Sloth Bear, Leopard, Rhesus and Langoor monkeys, Gharial
and Marsh Muggers and many other mammals more than 50
species, reptiles and amphibians over 55 species. The
park also maintains over 460 species of birds including
Bengal Frolicans, Giant Hornbill, Kingfishers, Egrets
etc.
Peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and Himalchuli
can be seen in a clear day. |
