| Dhulikhel |
|
This town is at 30km east of Kathmandu. A day trip from
Kathmandu to see the countryside and beautiful architecture
(several hundred years old) will certainly be interesting.
It will more interesting if you arrive early in the morning
to see the sun rise over the mountains. It is possible
to go on a locally organized short trek (three hours or
more). The region around Dhulikel offers good training
for longer treks. |

| Nagarkot |
| Nagarkot,
a small village, is a popular tourist resort of Nepal.
It lies 32km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,175m.
Most of the major peaks of the eastern Nepal Himalayas
can be seen from this popular resort. On clear mornings
October-May, you can see Mt. Everest, the highest peak
in the world. |

| Dakchinkali
|
| Dakchinkali is one of the
most important Hindu Goddesses. Pilgrims visit this temple
to offer their prayers and animal sacrifices are made
to the goddess. |

| Kakani
|
| It is located at 29km
northwest of Kathmandu. Panoramic view of Ganesh Himal,
Gaurishankar, Choba Bhamre, Manaslu, Himalchuli, and several
other peaks can be seen from this place. This place is
also popular as a picnic spot among the people of Kathmandu. |

| Daman
|
| It is located at 80km southwest
of Kathmndu at an altitude of 2,400m and can be reached
in four hours from Kathmandu. Daman offers the only unimpeded
view of the entire Himalayan range. There is a view tower
fitted with long range telescopes. |
